“This is a really exciting event for Adelaide; it’s an opportunity to showcase the incredible talent we have here,” says Kate Warren, producer. “There’ll be something for everybody. It’ll be a really fun night!”
In lieu of the planned 24 hour show being cancelled due to rights issues, and with overwhelming support from the Adelaide arts community, an alternative "showcase" event was created to fill the void.
The new event, which will opening for one night only this coming Saturday the 30th of June, will be a showcase celebrating Adelaide's vibrant musical theatre community, and will feature performances from Scotch College, The Adelaide Youth Theatre, The cast of Matt Byrne Media's upcoming production of Hairspray the Musical and the cast of Into the Woods.
The winner of the door prize will take home 2 tickets to The Jersey Boys which opens in Adelaide later this year, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association of South Australia have organised both bar facilities and food for sale on the night.
Famous face, and Adelaide theatre icon Peter Goers of ABC 89.1 will host the event, so dont miss the opportunity to celebrate Adelaide's theatre community whilst 'putting your muscles behind muscular dystrophy'.
